Kelly Roberts
Kelly graduated from Midway back when it was still a college, so ages ago with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry. She joined the Bachstetter Lab in September 2016, and she is currently a Senior Scientist in the lab.
In the (far distant) future, she plans to retire, but for now she is thoroughly enjoying working with the Bachstetter lab with a great bunch of people.
Kelly is from Lexington, KY and she enjoys reading, talking about books with her friends, traveling, and spending time with family on her farm with her husband, two children, two horses, a bunch of chickens, cats, rabbits, and one adorable dog.
Maggie Hawkins
Maggie graduated from UK in May 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Psychology. She is currently the Lab Technician at Bachstetter Lab. She hopes to attend graduate school in the future to study drug design and pharmacology.
Maggie is from Georgetown, KY, and she enjoys reading, watching movies, crocheting, and spending time with her husband and cat.
Matthew Lanning
Matthew joined the lab in August 2023. He graduated from UK with degrees in Neuroscience and Spanish, and he is currently working in the lab. Matthew is from Louisville KY, and he enjoys playing guitar, reading good books, and spending time with friends. In the future, he plans to attend medical school.
Madison Lapid
Maddie graduated from UK in December 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Business. She joined the Bachstetter Lab in January 2023, and she is currently working as a Lab Technician. In the future, she plans to attend medical school.
Maddie is from Columbus, OH, and she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Esther Drinkard
Esther graduated from WKU in May 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. She is currently a Lab Technician at Bachstetter Lab. She hopes to attend graduate school in the future in pursuit of drug research and design.
Esther is from Nicholasville, KY, and enjoys drawing, dancing, and Ale 8 (and of course science).
